Assault Marine

The Assault Marine is the shock warrior of a Space Marine Chapter, a close-combat specialist who closes the distance with the enemy and tears them apart in a storm of chainswords and bolt pistols. Where the Tactical Marine holds the line, the Assault Marine breaks it, smashing into the foe with brutal ferocity to shatter their formation and their spirit.

Many Assault Marines are equipped with jump packs, roaring engines that hurl them across the battlefield in soaring leaps to descend upon the enemy from above. Plunging into the heart of the foe, they exploit the terror and confusion of their arrival, striking down commanders and elite warriors before support can reach them. Among the Space Marines, they are the embodiment of aggression given form.

Drawn from the Chapter's most fearless and headstrong warriors, the men of the Assault squads live for the visceral clash of melee. They serve in the Close Support elements of the Battle Companies, and their charge is a thing of savage glory, the hammer-blow that turns a firefight into a rout.
