Wyches

Wyches are the celebrated blade-dancers of the Wych Cults, trained from a young age to kill with an artistry that turns slaughter into spectacle. They spend their lives performing in the great arenas of Commorragh, executing captives before roaring galleries, and this constant practice makes them among the deadliest close-combat fighters in the galaxy.

What makes a Wych so terrifying is not brute strength but preternatural agility. Through relentless conditioning and the use of potent combat stimulants, they move with a speed and fluidity that lets them weave through storms of incoming fire, twisting aside from shots that would obliterate a slower warrior. When they close, they strike with a bewildering array of arena weapons (barbed blades, whips, hooked nets, and hidden razors), each designed to wound, disable, and prolong an enemy's agony rather than grant a swift end.

On the battlefield Wyches ride to war aboard swift skimmers, leaping into the fray to shatter enemy lines with a whirlwind of edged death. They exult in the fear of their prey, growing more frenzied and lethal as the killing escalates. To a Wych, war is simply the greatest arena of all, and every enemy is an audience to be impressed and a life to be savoured as it ends.
