Legion Tactical Squad

The Legion Tactical Squad of the Iron Warriors reflects the character of a Legion forged in endurance rather than glory, line legionaries schooled in the patient, methodical war that was the IV Legion's speciality. They fight without flourish, holding assigned ground with an obstinacy that verges on the geological, advancing only when the calculus of the battle deems it correct, and expending themselves without complaint when the siege demands it.

There is little romance in the IV Legion's rank and file, only a grim professionalism born of endless thankless campaigning and the knowledge that theirs is the labour others disdain. That same hardness made them formidable, for an Iron Warrior does not break where others would, having long since learned to swallow grievance and simply endure. During the Heresy these line legionaries carried their primarch's resentment into battle against their former comrades, dismantling loyalist defences with the same tireless, joyless efficiency they had once turned against the enemies of the Emperor they now spurned.
