Pteraxii Sterylizors

Pteraxii Sterylizors are the airborne shock-troops of the Skitarii legions, augmented soldiers fitted with humming flight packs and broad artificial wings that let them soar above the battlefield and descend upon the foe like birds of prey. Trained by the Adeptus Mechanicus for aggressive assault, they favour incendiary weapons and flaring phosphor to scour the enemy from cover in sheets of purifying fire.

Sterylizors specialise in the brutal work of clearing objectives and burning out entrenched positions, dropping into the midst of the enemy and igniting everything around them before the defenders can react. Their kicker-mounted blades finish any who survive the flames. As with all Skitarii, their loyalty is absolute and their fear surgically excised, so they throw themselves into the most dangerous airborne assaults without hesitation. For a Mechanicus commander, the Pteraxii Sterylizors are a swift, incandescent hammer, dropped from above to shatter a strongpoint and leave only ash where resistance once stood.
