The Proteus carried the Legion's precious cabals and Sekhmet veterans through the heaviest fire and set them down where their sorceries would prove decisive, its thick armour a rare guarantee of safety for warriors the XV could ill afford to lose. Its lascannons gutted enemy armour as it advanced, but its truest gift was survivability, ensuring that the irreplaceable minds it carried lived to work their art.
