Isharann Soulrender

The Isharann Soulrender performs the darkest and most vital of the deep-aelf sacraments: the harvesting of souls. Armed with a talunhook, a cruel barbed instrument, the Soulrender reaps the spirits of the dying and the dead, tearing free the essence that the Idoneth must steal to sustain their soul-starved race, and even using that stolen vitality to knit the wounds of fallen deepkin so they might rise and fight anew.

Accompanied by fish-like isharann familiars that dart through the ethersea to snatch loose souls, the Soulrender turns the aftermath of every clash into a grim harvest. Among the Idoneth Deepkin they are regarded with a mixture of reverence and unease even by their own kin, for theirs is the hand that decides which souls feed the enclave and which are simply spent. To the surface races they are a horror beyond death, for a warrior slain by the deepkin does not merely die; his soul is stripped away and carried down into the black water, to fuel the endless, desperate hunger of a people cursed at their very birth.
