Darkoath Marauders

Darkoath Marauders are the mortal heart of the Chaos tribes, oath-sworn warriors who have pledged themselves body and soul to the Dark Gods in exchange for strength, survival, and the chance of glory. Unlike the armoured Chaos Warriors they aspire to become, they go to war half-clad and lightly armed, trusting to ferocity and sheer weight of numbers.

What they lack in wargear they make up in fury. Bellowing the names of gods they scarcely understand, the Marauders throw themselves at the enemy with axes, blades, and whatever they can seize, each warrior desperate to perform some deed savage enough to draw a god's eye. To break an oath is unthinkable, worse than death, and so they fight with a reckless commitment that unnerves more disciplined foes. Every Darkoath warband is a gamble made flesh: the gods reward the mighty with blessings and the failed with damnation, and these tribesmen wager their very souls that they will end the day among the favoured rather than twisted into gibbering spawn.
